Our Work
We try to help as many dogs as possible. Every day new cases reach us, sometimes in the middle of the night. We treat skin infected dogs that other shelters often refuse to take in, and help dogs to recover from spine injuries, broken legs and different kind of wounds. Apart from that we offer the treatment of dogs with TVT and other tumors, perform amputation surgeries and sterilizations (including post-operative care).
On their journey of recovery, our canine friends teach us important lessons of patience, love, trust and empathy.
Treatment and Rehabilitation
To see all these dogs heal and recover gives us the motivation to start each day new and to continue our work even in difficult times.
Often we literally see miracles happen, when for example temporary paralysed accident victims start to walk again. And the transformation of those with skin infections is each time simply amazing.
Skin Treatment Unit
Most dogs that we admit with skin infections are long term patients. Their skin is so badly infected and their health condition in general is so poor that they often need at least two to three months to recover.

We handle each dog with utmost care and work hard on their health improvement. They get regular medicated bath by our well-trained and caring staff, medicine, good nutritious food and lots of love and attention.

Skin diseases can be transmitted from dog to dog, contact with other dogs should be avoided. That’s why we keep all skin infected cases in a seperate unit.
Wound Treatment Unit
Dogs on the streets often suffer from horrible wounds. The most cases that we admit are those with maggot infested wounds. We find these wounds on each part of the dogs' bodies, often the head is affected.

Maggot wounds occur when flies lay there eggs in an open wound. The larves of these flies, called maggots, eat the flesh. The animals get literally eaten alive. It's very dangerous and painful and wounds like this, left untreated, can end fatal for the animal and they die an absolute terrible death. We have already successfully treated thousands of such maggot wound cases.
The ealier they come to us, the higher is the chance that they survive.
If you see a dog with such a wound, please don't hesitate and call your nearby NGO or bring the dog to a vet if possible. Also onsite treatment is often a good option.
TVT Unit
TVT is the short form of Transmissible Venereal Tumor. It's been found in females and males as well.
TVTs are cancerous tumors. It is transmitted through direct skin-to-skin contact with the tumor which includes sexual contact (intercourse), licking, biting, and sniffing the tumor affected areas, that results in cancer cells being transplanted from dog to dog.
The tumor can be located on the penis/prepuce or vulva of the dogs, but also within the mouth or on the tongue.
The signs of this type of tumor may be irregular thickening of the tissue, discomfort, intermittent bleeding, or bruising. It's often been described as ‘cauliflower-like’ nodules.
TVTs usually continue to grow and can become increasingly bothersome without treatment. We often see cases where the tumor is bleeding or where it is maggot infested.

Chemotherapy is considered the treatment of choice. The prognosis for total remission with chemotherapy is good.
As this tumor is transmitted from dog to dog, contact with other dogs should be avoided. That’s why we keep all TVT cases in a seperate unit.
ABC UNIT (Animal Birth Control)
We at pets force believe that STERILIZATION is the best and most effective way to prevent stray dogs from multiplying and to end their unnecessary suffering. It also helps to reduce human-animal and animal-animal conflicts.

We weekly conduct ABC-surgeries at our centre and provide post-operative care. Especially all those dogs that are brought to us for any kind of treatment get spayed/neutered and vaccinated against rabies by us before release.
Surgeries
In our facilities we are able to perform amputation surgeries, ABC surgeries and tumor removal surgeries.
